In conditions like Fatty Liver (Medoroga) or Cirrhosis (Kumbha Kamala), the pathogenesis is as follows:
How Sewa B-Liv interrupts this:
Stimulates Appetite: By clearing Kledaka Kapha from the stomach and stimulating Pachaka Pitta through Tikta Rasa herbs.
Supports Sluggish Liver: Kalmegh and Kutki provide a "kick-start" to hepatic enzymes (Yakrut-Uttejana).
Manage Fatty Liver: Tikta Rasa is naturally anti-lipidic; it dries up excess Meda (fat) stored in the liver cells.
Aid in Cirrhosis Care: While cirrhosis is a chronic Kshaya state, Bhringraj and Bhumyamlaki act as Rasayanas to maintain the health of the remaining functional hepatocytes and reduce inflammation (Shotha).
Ideal Patient: Patients with chronic indigestion, alcoholic liver disease, NAFLD (Fatty Liver), or post-hepatitis recovery.
Stage of Disease: Excellent for Sama Pitta conditions (acidity with heaviness and coated tongue).
Combination: Best paired with a strict Pathya (diet) of bitter gourds, buttermilk, and avoidance of heavy/oily foods.
Anupana: Fresh ginger water or plain lukewarm water.
Dosage: 10–15 ml twice daily before meals for appetite; after meals for liver support.
Contraindications: Severe diarrhea (due to Kutki's mild purgative action) and acute pregnancy (consult Vaidya).
Overuse Effects: Excessive use may cause mild loose motions or increased gastric acidity in pure Pitta prakriti due to the Ushna virya of Kalmegh.
Arogyavardhini Vati: For potent Meda-pachana in Fatty Liver.
Punarnavasava: If pedal edema or ascites is present (Cirrhosis care).
Kumaryasava: To improve the Pitta-Rechana (bile flow) and bowel movements.
Avipattikar Churna: If the liver dysfunction is accompanied by severe hyperacidity.
Loha Bhasma / Navayas Loha: If the patient is anemic (Pandu) due to liver dysfunction.
Core Action: Pitta-Saraka (Bile moving) and Yakrut-Uttejaka (Liver stimulating).
Key Karma: Deepana (Appetizer), Pachana (Digestive), and Yakrut-Balya (Hepato-tonic).
Clinical Positioning: A comprehensive metabolic corrector that shifts the liver from a "sluggish/fatty" state to an "active/functional" state.
This analysis is for registered Ayurvedic practitioners. Treatment should be individualized. In cases of advanced Cirrhosis or Hepatitis, integrate with necessary diagnostic monitoring.
